#bookrelease -Hawk v Falcon: Surprise at the Candy Apple – by @elodieparkes

Thank you for hosting new release MM romance,

Hawk v Falcon: Surprise at the Candy Apple

When Chris Falconer receives an email from his lost high school friend, Justin, ten years after he last saw him, Chris is overjoyed. The two boys had shared kisses and sworn love for each other, but before their love could be tested, Justin’s mother abruptly took Justin out of school, and they disappeared.

Multi-talented and handsome Chris is a cage fighter at Jack’s Clubhouse, and works in the Candy Apple club. He writes a column for a fitness blog and keeps himself busy, but deep down he’s never forgotten Justin—turns out Justin has never forgotten Chris either.

On a modeling assignment in New York, Justin sees Chris in a café and can’t help contacting him, but his ex, Todd, who doesn’t want Justin but doesn’t want Chris to have him either, has plans to throw their reunion into disarray.

So begins a love story full of emotion. Will Todd succeed? Or this time, will Justin and Chris have the happy ending and delicious love they deserve?

In the second MM romance from the Candy Apple series, I picked up on the character Hawk, the Dungeon Master in the Candy Apple. Chris Falconer is Hawk to the dungeon surveillance staff, but to others he’s a lonely man who often thinks about his past with regret. To the audience at Jack’s Clubhouse, where Chris cage fights and provides display fight bouts, he’s a thrilling sight.

Chris is:

  • six foot, two
  • has dark glossy hair
  • has deep blue eyes
  • is kind and gentle
  • writes a blog for fitness and fight fans
  • loves sex and giving his partner pleasure
  • is muscled and handsome
  • when he’s not fighting, favors black suits, or a leather jacket
  • is intelligent, multi-talented, calm and sophisticated

Justin is:

  • a fashion model
  • six foot two
  • has dark hair
  • has clear blue/gray eyes
  • is lonely and had a stressful upbringing
  • has never forgotten Chris
  • needs love
  • has lived in Denmark for many years
  • is hesitant and yet as soon as Chris begins to take care of him, he blossoms

Their story is sexy, romantic, sad, and happy. No one is more surprised than Chris when he is contacted by long lost love Justin and he will do anything to give Justin the love he needs.

Read an excerpt:

Justin walked a pace behind Chris. It was such a relief to be near Chris, Justin’s fatigue threatened to overwhelm him. Every muscle in his body felt heavy. His gaze traced the broad shoulders and muscled thighs of the man in front. Chris’s hair was well cut and his suit obviously expensive. Chris was even taller than he’d been when Justin last saw him in person, but then so was he. Justin smiled as a wave of tenderness crept over him followed by a sharp need to feel Chris’s lips on his. He still loved Chris. He’d expected to find it was all in his head, that the love was confined to memories, and real life would show him he was mistaken, that love couldn’t last this long.

They were in a corridor when Chris turned to him. “I’ve thought about you so much, I’m a bit ashamed of myself for clinging to your memory, when you never called, when you just disappeared.”

Justin’s heart fell. Was Chris about to reject him now they were away from the bar, the friendly barkeep, and bright white glow of the downlights there? “I’m sorry…”

“No. I meant … I mean I still care for you. I couldn’t ever shake it. I never got over you and it’s been … it’s been so long—you know I sometimes felt weak for not letting go.”

Justin gazed at Chris’s handsome face. “I thought about you.” He slid his hand along Chris’s jaw. “I want to kiss you, so much.”

Chris closed the small gap between their bodies as he grabbed Justin’s head and brought his mouth down on Justin’s. Justin’s breath left him in a soft murmur. His eyes closed in pleasure. He clung to Chris, desperation to stay with Chris, never to go home, gripping him. All he could think of was starting again with Chris, of the delicious drifting sensation that overcame him as Chris pressed close. He kissed Chris over and over until he couldn’t breathe, and Chris held his face away a little whispering words he’d longed to hear against his mouth and dotting tiny kisses there between the phrases.

“Justin, stay here, in the club. I can’t let you go, but I can’t leave work. I still love you. I want to know where you’ve been all these years. Where do you live? You must be a club member. I’ve not seen you here before. Can you stay until we close? It will be late, but then we can talk—we can be together.”

Justin closed his eyes and leaned his head on Chris’s shoulder. “Yes.”

Chris folded Justin in his arms.

Justin stayed within the comfort of the embrace until he knew he had to let Chris get back to work. He raised his head and stepped away.

“I should let you work. I’ll hang out at the bar.”

Chris gazed into his eyes. “Thank you.” He kissed Justin gently. “Hell, you’ll never know how good it feels to kiss you again.

Book Release – Dinner For Two – by Eileen Griffin

Hey All! This is a book release post with a difference. Today the wonderful Eileen Griffin is joining me to tell us about her new release but also with an interesting post about food and wine. Enjoy!

Dinner For Two Banner

Dinner For Two

by: Eileen Griffin

Genre: Erotic Romance

Length: Romance On The Go – Short Story

Published: December 17, 2013

Publisher: Evernight Publishing

Sonia Davenport has dreams of coordinating and planning special events. When she’s given the opportunity to plan a dinner for her boss and his shareholders, she jumps at the chance to make everything perfect. Helping her plan the special night is the head chef of the restaurant, Tony Mancinni, who is not only charming but goes out of his way to make Sonia feel special during the entire planning process.

The dinner party almost turns disastrous when an employee mixes up the orders and sets out the wrong food. In a mad rush to save the dinner, Sonia and Tony realize their attraction to each other when things heat up in the kitchen. However, Tony has to convince Sonia that he wants more than just an extra set of hands in his restaurant – he wants her to stay the night so he can convince her to stay for good.

Tony gently rubbed his finger along her bottom lip. “I had hoped everything would be perfect tonight because I wanted to impress you. When you came in for brunch that first Sunday and laid out your plans, not only were you beautiful, but you had a detailed description of what you wanted. On the catering side of things, you have no idea how attractive that is. Then, when you came in for your tasting, I didn’t think I was going to make it through the afternoon without asking you out. But I have a strict rule: Don’t date the clients until after the function is over. So I waited. Do you have any idea how hard it was to wait?”
Sonia shook her head slightly, then let her lips part. Instead of replying to him, she slid her tongue out to meet his finger, gently caressing the tip. He hissed in a breath, his eyes fixated on her tongue and lips. Feeling emboldened by his words, she leaned closer and drew his finger deeper inside her mouth, wrapping her lips around it as she laved it with her tongue.
“Sonia,” he whispered. “You’re so beautiful. But I didn’t ask you up here for this.”
She leaned back, his finger sliding out of her mouth. All the nerves and doubts she’d felt earlier were replaced by a heat that was coursing through her. She’d felt it all night in the kitchen with him and it was stronger now that she knew he wanted her as badly as she wanted him.
“I’m glad you asked me up here, Tony. But if we’re being honest with each other, I think dinner can wait. You see, I’ve lost my appetite. For food, that is.”

Dinner For Two Md

A huge thanks to Molly for hosting me on her blog today 
Although Tony and Sonia only get to enjoy a little bit of their wine and dinner in my newest release, Dinner For Two, it would have been a travesty for me not to include them sharing a glass of a good red wine after a frantic day in Tony’s kitchen. A glass of wine at night is integral to helping me unwind after a particularly stressful day.
I’m not an oenophile, just a lover of wines. I have to admit that when I was younger and in college, the extent of my wine knowledge basically began and ended with White Zinfandel. I cannot tell you how much that makes me shudder thinking back on it today. Not because I’m a wine snob (really, I’m not!) but because I’ve discovered that there are so many other amazing wines out there that have so much more to offer than just a simple wine that’s easy to drink. I was introduced to “real” wine during my first backpacking trip across Europe in a small café in Avignon, France. Avignon is a region known for their Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines, which are WAY out of my price range but Oh-So-Delicious! The wine I had that day was local (to this day I have no idea what it was) and it was delicious. This one meal started me on my journey of seeking out new wines and trying to discover what I could about the different varietals.
So even though I’m not a certified oenophile, here are some suggestions I have to make a newbie’s introduction into the world of wine (past White Zinfandel) with some of the recipes I’ve blogged about this week for an easier transition:
Wine and Food Pairings:
Puttanesca or any spicy dish: To hold up against the spiciness, you need a wine that’s not going to overpower the flavor of the spices. I highly recommend either a Pinor Noir (which is only lightly fruity and usually allows the spices of a dish to come through) or a Sangiovese blend (I recommend a blend because for me, a true Sangiovese is too harsh and dry).
Italian Wedding Soup: Because this is made with white meat (chicken or turkey), I’d suggest a lighter, crisper white wine. My personal favorite is Sauvignon Blanc rather than a Chardonnay, only because a Chardonnay tends to be more “buttery” and heavy and can easily overpower the subtle flavors of the soup. This soup can also be served with a Pinot Noir since it’s one of the lighter, fruitier red wines.
Pasta Salad: This salad screams for Sauvignon Blanc but can also easily be served with a Chardonnay.
Cheeses or my Baked Brie: For me, fancy cheese is a personal preference and should be served with whatever the person’s personal choice of wine is. I love drinking a heavier red wine like Zinfandel with cheeses because I feel like the cheese helps bring out the smokiness and berry undertones of the wine.
However, the bottom line for any wine lover is this: Drink what you love whenever you enjoy good food. It’s your palate and your dining experience. No one has a better idea what you’ll enjoy than you do! Salute 

The Girl On The Bus – Raven McAllan

The Girl On The Bus by Raven McAllan

Julia ran out on Tay five years ago, so she can’t be the woman he sees on the bus. However, when she ends up being the one taking notes at his meeting, he knows he will move heaven and earth to make her his once more.
Will she agree, or will she run again?

Be Warned: BDSM, public exhibition, spanking

Excerpt – 18+
Once inside the room, which as far as Julia could see, was empty except for a bed, Mister T gripped her by the chin. “What is the first thing you thought when you came inside?”
Julia answered him without thinking about it. “Is that all?”
His shout of laughter rumbled through her, and his hand on her hair sent zaps of hot hard arousal to her clit and pussy.
“Well we can’t have that, can we? A disappointed sub. Now I wonder what we should do?”
Going on instinct, Julia knelt awkwardly in front of him—she’d done her research on line—put her hands behind her and bent her head.
“Please, sir.” To her annoyance her voice shook and she cleared her throat. “I want to learn.”
“What, pet? What do you want to learn?”
Julia swallowed. “Whatever you wish to show me, sir.” Then she remembered one of the books she’d read. “Within my safe words.”
He’d laughed. “Clever, pet. What are they and what do they mean?”
“Red, stop now. We may discuss why I’m calling red but until we do its non-negotiable. Yellow, I’m not sure about what’s happening, and maybe we need to discuss it further. And green, oh yes, I’m very happy let’s carry on.”
He crouched in front of her and kissed her nose. “That seems to cover it. Well sub, I’m considered to be best at wax play. Are you willing to let me show you the beauty therein?”
Those words spoken in his velvet voice made her ream coat her pussy and thighs and the hairs on her arms stand up.
“Yes, Sir. Please, Sir.” The salutation seemed so easy to say, and so normal to her, that it rolled of her tongue automatically.
What followed became the most special and mind blowing time of her life. It was all well and good saying no sex, but it had been sexual in its own way.
Tay showed her with both diagrams and pictures what would happen. Then asked her to sign yet more disclaimers, before telling her to shower to remove all lotions and perfumes.
When she’d exited the shower, a tall smiling woman waited for her. Julia blushed. She might not be ashamed of her hourglass figure, but she wasn’t used to flaunting it.
“Master T said would you put this on, please? He reckoned you’d not be happy dressed just in a thong as he’d prefer.” She’d passed a bikini to Julia who looked at it doubtfully. It was so tiny, Julia reckoned she’d be lucky to get her nipple covered by the top, it looked to be an AA cup and she was a DD. The bottom wasn’t much better, but at least it covered her bush.
The other woman, “Call me Callie,” giggled as Julia blushed. The way Callie’s face crinkled up, made her look much more approachable and ten years younger. Julia realized she was around the same age as herself.
“Master T?” Julia asked as she struggled to dress in the bikini without dropping the towel. “Does he ever go mask-less?”
Callie shook her head. “Nope, but he’s so good no one worries. Look, honey, it’s obviously you’re like a newborn babe here. Believe me, no one will bother about your body, except to see the marks of your Sir or Master on it. For hygiene’s sake, if you carry on you’ll shave or wax your pussy, it’s preferred, and you’ll get used to being mainly unclothed. It’s no biggie. Right, you’re playing in private, but I’m dungeon master for you. Master T thought you’d be happier with a woman around.”
The following hour had been eye opening, enlightening, and mind blowing.
“I’m tying you down, pet, for your own safety,” Tay told her. “Color?”
“Green, Sir.” Okay she didn’t know how she felt about not having the chance to move, but then she trusted him to know best. Behind him, Callie leaned against the wall ever watchful. So she did have a get out of jail card.
Once the first drop of wax hit her chest, the intense sting was followed by a flush of arousal so strong Julia almost came there and then. At the stern, “do not come until I say so”, she bit her lip, regulating her breathing instead. She flew. Nothing existed except each soft drop of wax, his quiet praise, and the way she was detached and watching herself flush and blossom.
He tapped her mound gently and spoke in his sex on legs voice. “Fly, pet. Come for me now, Silver, show me how you let go.”

Raven Bio
Raven lives in Scotland, along with her husband and their two cats—their children having flown the nest—surrounded by beautiful scenery, which inspires a lot of the settings in her books.
She is used to sharing her life with the occasional deer, red squirrel, and lost tourist, to say nothing of the scourge of Scotland—the midge.
Her very understanding, and long-suffering DH, is used to his questions unanswered, the dust bunnies greeting him as he walks through the door, and rescuing burned offerings from the Aga. (And passing her a glass of wine as she types furiously.)

Today I am honoured to welcome fellow Evernight author Jenny Lyn to my blog to tell us about her new release River Reckoning (Trouble in Trespass).

River Reckoning 1st cover art (2) (533x800)

Hey Jenny! So what’s the book about?

Bond Mason’s roots run deep in the backwoods hamlet of Trespass, Florida. Nestled against the banks of the Suwannee River, the only home she’s ever known holds bittersweet memories of a family long gone. Except one of her ghosts isn’t dead and possessive ex-lover James Kyle wants her back.
U.S. Deputy Marshal Nathan Gates sights are set on capturing fugitive Robert Kyle. Wanted for the cold-blooded murder of a DEA agent, Robert is suspected of being hidden away with his moonshine-brewing, marijuana-growing family of fellow lawbreakers, one of which is his brother, James.
Nathan expected high temperatures when he arrived in Trespass. What he hadn’t counted on is his searing attraction to southern beauty Bond Mason. She winds him around her finger like a tendril of Spanish moss, but his lawman’s intuition tells him she’s hiding secrets too. When he finally convinces her to talk, he’s not prepared for the dark truths she reveals about her hometown.
The Suwannee is deep, but Trespass’s sins run much deeper. For once, Nathan might be in over his head.

Excerpt (Rated R):
Bond rolled to her knees, still smiling, as she untied the sash to her robe. She let it fall open but didn’t shrug it off her shoulders. It parted in slow motion a few inches then stopped, revealing a swath of golden skin down the center of her body, the inviting valley between her breasts and the small patch of dark trimmed curls at the apex of her toned thighs. Nathan stood motionless, taking her in as he tried to decide what he wanted to set his mouth to first.
“Nathan.” Her fingers nervously toyed with the robe’s sash. He gradually raised his gaze to hers, tearing it away from the temptation of her body. “I have a small confession to make.”
His interest was piqued. “I’m listening.”
Color flooded her cheeks. He put one knee on the mattress and kissed her jaw reassuringly. She braced her hands on his biceps, the heat of a sigh warming his ear. “Last night when you were kind of … bossy … I liked it … a lot.”
He grinned. That was some admission. His single-minded cock wholeheartedly approved. It was so hard it threatened to bust through the teeth of his zipper. “You like me telling you what to do, huh?”
She nodded. Her fingers caught the hem of his t-shirt, stripping it over his head. “I like it when you talk.”
“Last night you said I talked too much.”
“I can’t be held accountable for the things I say during incredible sex. I want you to talk.”
Incredible sex. No argument there, it had been. Tonight was going to top that.
The robe slipped off one shoulder exposing her right breast, an enticement impossible to resist. Nathan ducked his head and made a lazy circle around her nipple with the tip of his tongue. It tightened to a stiff peak. He felt her fingers slide through his hair, heard the tiny moan she made in her throat. “Dirty?” he asked against her skin.
“Anything. I want to listen, not think. I like your voice, but if you were saying naughty things it would be even better.”
He chuckled as he eased off the bed. Bond sat back on her heels, resting her hands on her thighs expectantly. “Take your hair down.”
She released the clip, allowing the dark mass to tumble free. When she shook her head, damp curls slid over her shoulders. Nathan reached out and wound a long lock around his fingers, tugging gently. “You’re stunning.” More color flooded her cheeks and neck. Her bottom lip slipped between her teeth. “Come closer.”
Rising to her knees, she scooted to the edge of the bed, pressing her chest to his. Nathan caught the lapels of her robe in his fists and pulled it down her arms, trapping them at her sides. He buried his face in her neck, trailing kisses across the tender, fragrant skin. Her scent made him drunk with desire, crazy with need. Never had he been so affected by a woman as he was by Bond. She was like some illicit drug, and he’d become a hopeless addict with one sample.

Author Bio:
I started reading when I was four, thanks to a babysitter who found out the only way to get me to sit still was to put a book in my hand. By the time I entered kindergarten, I’d blown through just about every Little Golden Book ever printed. Ten years later, much to my mother’s dismay, I found her stash of paperback romance novels. She tried to divert me back to something more chaste by buying me Harlequins, but I still snuck copies of her Kathleen Woodiwiss’s and Johanna Lindsey’s when she wasn’t looking. Shanna, The Flame and the Flower, and Fires of Winter will always hold special places in my heart because they introduced me to roguish heroes, headstrong heroines, and the trouble they could get into together.
I live in a swampy little corner of north-central Florida with my family, both the two-legged and four-legged variety. I love to read, run hot and cold in regards to cooking, and I never miss an episode of Justified, Longmire, or Dexter. I guess I like justice in all its various forms.

In this passionate sweet Western Historical Romance, author Charlene Whitman introduces Emma Bradshaw—a high-society young woman from New York, who is forced to move out to the untamed Front Range in Colorado and finds that true love can withstand all the dangers the West can throw at her.

Greeley, Colorado, in 1875 is a town built on a promise . . .

. . . but to Emma it is a desert prison in the middle of a hostile and dusty prairie. Emma had hoped to go to Vassar College, to pursue her dreams of becoming a botanical illustrator. But when her father, struck with “Western fever” moves the family out West, Emma’s dreams are shattered. Her only consolation is that her childhood friend, handsome Randall Turnbull, has moved to Greeley to work for his railroad baron father. Her heart sparked by his comforting presence, she hopes Randall will fall in love with her and marry her.

But promises often turn bitter . . .

. . . as Lucas Rawlings, veterinarian and horse lover, well knows. Lucas has lived on the Front Range for three years at Sarah Banks’s horse ranch, after stumbling down from the Rockies consumed with grief. Since losing his precious wife and baby in childbirth, he doesn’t think his heart can bear ever loving again. But Sarah, a half-Cheyenne with a medicine woman for a grandmother, has a vision showing it’s time Lucas married again. He scoffs until he rescues Emma in a sudden hailstorm and their lives become intricately entwined.

Emma must choose—and fight—for the man she loves, at the risk of all she loves . . .

Emma yearns for the comfort and familiarity of Randall’s company, but Lucas’s easy confidence and gentle ways snag her heart. Facing a new life beset by grasshoppers, drought, and blizzards is hard enough. But when murderous ranchers try to force Sarah off her land, and her brother takes up dangerous company, the lives of her family and the man she’s come to love are threatened. It will take a miracle—and the strength and promises of true love—to come through unscathed in this untamed land.

Today I’m interviewing the stunning and talented fellow Evernight Publishing author Jewel Quinlan. Her book, Rock Star Ex is a Contemporary Romance and was released on October 10, 2013.

Hey Jewel! Thanks for coming over!

Who is your intended audience and why should they read your book?
My books are for anyone who wants be somewhere they’ve never been. I love stories where I am taken somewhere I have always wondered about but have a low chance of actually seeing. In this case for example: back stage at a rock concert and on a tour bus.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
The goal of my stories is always entertainment. If my story transports you our of your daily grind for even a little while then I consider my job done.

Describe the genre of this particular title. Is it the only genre you write in?
Contemporary Romances are usually set in the time they are written and reflect the world at that time. It’s kind of funny that this is the first book that came out as I actually consider myself to be a Fantasy/Paranormal author. The next two stories coming out are in each of these genres.

How did you come up with the title of your book or series?
The original title of the book was Patience. I had written the story for a contest being held by Boroughs Publishing where you had to use a song as your inspiration for the story and adopt the title of the song as the title of your story. My song was Patience by Guns N Roses. I didn’t win the contest or even place in it but I now had a completed novella that I loved so I re-titled it with something more marketable and submitted it to other publishers.

When did you start writing toward publication?
I will always consider this year the year that I finally took myself serious as a writer. Forty will always be remembered as a turning point in my life. It was the year I realized how much time I have left to live. So much time! I decided to finally pursue what I love.

Give us an interesting fun fact or a few about your book or series.
To figure out what a tour bus looks like on the inside and what my options were for its design I watched several episodes of Celebrity Motor Homes from HGTV.

Why have you become a published author?
It has always been my dream to write romance. My goal is to be able to write full time so that I am not tied to one spot. I want to be able to live and work anywhere in the world.

Do you have any rejection stories to share?
I have had two rejections so far in this industry. One agent I had pitched to sent me an email telling me she wasn’t in love with the story. Which is fine, not every story is everyone’s cup of tea. And, when it comes to agents I’d rather have one that loves my work. The other rejection was just a non-response. I had pitched to the editor and then followed up twice but never heard anything back. However, in my day job I meet rejection on a daily basis since I work in pharmaceutical sales, so I’m kind of used to it. I basically have found that if you just keep working on improving and looking for opportunities you will find your way.

What is your writing routine like?
Butt-in-chair time is critical and I can procrastinate just like anyone else. My goal is to write for at least an hour each day during the week and squeeze in more on the weekends. I keep a writing log to track myself for two reasons: 1. It makes me accountable. I can see if I am hitting my goals. 2. I am less hard on myself because I can see that I have been working consistently and moving forward.

What sort of promo do you do? Do you have help?
I am new to all this but I have what most authors have with regards to social media. I am just wrapping up a blog tour that I put together myself as an experiment. It was a bit of work and it would have been nice to have help but, no, I do it all myself. I plan to try different things at different times so I have a list of what I want to do after the blog tour is finished. I figure, if I just keep putting it out there, more people will see it. In the process I will also learn what works and what doesn’t.

Are you a member of any writing organizations and, if so, have they helped?
I am a member of the Romance Writers Association. I belong to the national organization and also the local organization. Both have helped tremendously! They each have online classes every month to help improve your writing and the national website has great resources. When I was trying to figure out how to write blurb and synopsis I found great information there. The annual conferences are a goldmine of information as well!

Will you share some encouraging words for authors still struggling for that first contract?
Keep asking yourself how you can make it better. Does your writing sound like your favourite author? Question your story. I do this a lot. Why would he/she do that? What makes them the way they are? Why would person A help person B? And so forth. And, above all, keep taking classes to improve your writing.

Do you ever suffer from writer’s block and if so, do you have any tips on how to overcome it?
Unfortunately I have not suffered from this. What I do suffer from is an over-active imagination, lol. When you believe, as I do, that anything is possible it opens the infinite realm of possibility. Here’s one thing I once heard that might help your readers. Ask yourself this about your story: How can I make things worse? Then rub your hands together and chuckle evilly. You need to make it hard for your characters. Make them suffer! And then have fun bringing them together for the happy ending of course.

Do you have a critique partner? Can you tell us a bit about them?

I belong to a critique group actually. There are six of us total and we meet every few weeks. When we first started, all of us were unpublished newbies and I joked that it was the ‘blind leading the blind’. But, even though we were all inexperienced, it has been extremely helpful to have them review my work and visa versa. Each of them brings a unique perspective and will catch different things that makes my writing even better. Ours is a happy story. We all get a long well and take feedback with grace. We have been lucky.

Which famous person would you like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Will Smith. Check out some of his interviews online. He also believes in the limitless possibilities of life and he works hard to achieve them. I also love his light-hearted and humorous spirit. He just seems like someone I could really connect with as a friend.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Listen to yourself! Ignore all the stupid rules and thoughts that other people try to impose on you. It’s your life! Make it what you want.

Who or what inspires you?
I was kick-started when I met Author Nikki Prince. At one of our chapter meetings she was receiving and award for publishing her 13th story within the last year. 13 stories in a year! She also has children, a husband and a full-time job. She is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She patiently answered my questions when I went to meet her during the lunch break. Meeting her gave me hope that I could really do this. I got off the lazy-train that very day and I’m so glad I did!

Thanks so much, Jewel! You, like all the authors I have interviewed, are inspirational and your answers have made me smile.

Now, can you share two/three fun facts about yourself?
I bartend part-time and make an excellent Cosmo.
I study the German language.
I have been to 15 countries so far and plan on seeing more.

What’s next for you?
My next novella, Surrender Sweet Succubus, is coming out October 22nd as part of an anthology titled Sinsperationally Yours from Hot Ink Books.
After that I have a full-length novel titled Stealing Cupid’s Bow coming from Decadent Publishing.

Social media consultant, Eve Everett, is less than thrilled when her business partner hooks them up with a job covering celebrity rock band Arsenal. Their new lead singer, Devon Quinn, is the man who broke her heart five years ago. But there’s no way Eve can turn down the assignment. It’s the big break their fledgling company needs.
To boost Arsenal’s social media presence the band’s manager wants intimate coverage, especially of Devon, which means traveling with the band in their tour bus while they promote their new album. It’s not long before Devon tries to rehash the past but Eve would rather leave it buried where it is.
When Eve is asked to be part of a music video, she decides it’s a great opportunity to reap some revenge by showing Devon what he’s missing. But soon she’s the one losing control. Will Devon once again claim her heart as well as her body?

Excerpt “It’s good to see you again, Eve,” he said softly so the others wouldn’t pick up on it. He knew she wouldn’t want to hear it. It couldn’t be helped, but it just had to be said.
Her head snapped up, eyes wide.
“That’s what I wanted to say the other night, but you didn’t give me a chance.”
Big mistake.
Her eyes narrowed. “I didn’t give you a chance? Then I’d say we’re even.”
“Look, Eve, things didn’t happen the way you’re thinking. It wasn’t like that.” He set the bottom of Tommy’s guitar on the floor, his hand on the neck, and leaned closer in to talk to her.
“The way I’m thinking?” she repeated. Standing up straight, she stuck one foot out to the side and said in a low hiss, “Look, Devon, the facts are the facts. You left and I never heard from you again. Not once. It has nothing to do with the way I’m thinking.”
He tensed. It was happening again. She was misunderstanding him. “No, look, that’s not what I mean, okay?”
“Oh, then what do you mean?” She cocked her head at him and waited.
“It’s…it was hard on the road, to keep in touch with anyone, for a lot of reasons. You don’t know what it was like. I mean we were bouncing around from place to place, driving for long periods of time and then having to work until really late at night. It was pretty much impossible to communicate. Besides, you had no answering machine back then, remember?”
She visibly puffed up. “I see, so it’s my fault you couldn’t communicate with me?”
“I’m not saying it was anyone’s fault, Eve. Just that there was no way to call.” He felt relieved. He had finally been able to tell her, to explain. Maybe now she would understand. Well, when she calmed down at least.
“And you couldn’t write a letter?” She spoke quietly but the words dripped acid.
She had him there. Even though she was several inches shorter he suddenly felt very small. He looked down and stuck a hand in his pocket, not knowing what to say. That was an even more complicated topic.
Her cold eyes were on him. The silence stretched on for another moment. Before he could gather any other words to try to explain she turned and headed back up front, her ponytail slapping him in the face as she went.
