A Home for Jesse
by Iyana Jenna
Published by JMS Books
Length: 19,909 words

BLURB:

Jesse Gray can’t get more unlucky. His roommate left him and he gets kicked out when he can’t afford the rent. Next, the owner of the fast food joint where he works part-time suddenly tells him he no longer works there. Jesse still has a job as a PA on a movie set but the pay will never be enough to afford even the cheapest room in Hollywood. There’s only one place left to stay the night — in the park.

Trey Miller is the star on a TV series where Jesse works. They bump into each other one night while leaving the set, and Trey thinks Jesse is much too good-looking to only be a PA. When he learns of Jesse’s financial condition, he offers a place to stay at his house. Having no other options, Jesse reluctantly accepts the offer, but what’s the catch?

EXCERPT:
Note: may contain sexually explicit scenes of a homoerotic nature.
This ain’t so bad. Jesse pats his laden backpack. He stretches himself on the bench and lowers his head onto the bag, grimacing at the bumps pressing against his head and neck. Awesome. He is going to have major cricks and headaches come morning. That is if he’s not suffering from early signs of pneumonia.

Jesse shifts and grunts and finally gives up. He sits up, takes off his jacket, and spreads it over his front before he lies down again. Moving a bit again to find the most comfortable position, he thinks, Fuck, now my shorts are stuck in the crack of my ass. Jesse reaches down and pulls them free — ah, that’s better.

He takes a deep breath. So he’s a bum now, is he? His ma would be heartbroken if she knew. She could blame him for being such a hard head and insisting on having his own way. Jesse stares blankly at the leaves swaying on treetops, at the shadows of the swings dancing in the dark, at the stars blinking mockingly down at him. At least the fact that they are up there means that the sky is cloudless and Jesse doesn’t need to worry about the possibility of rain tonight. Getting soaked when the only place he has to sleep is this park would be a pain in the ass, not to mention hazardous to his health. Jesse also hopes no cops will come patrolling tonight.

Weary to the bone, Jesse curls both hands under the side of his face and gives in to slumber.

“Come on, Trey, one more glass. Don’t be a spoilsport.”

What one more glass means for Brent must be different from what it means for Trey. They have been here for hours. Trey had sneaked a glance at his watch once. It showed four — and that must have been half an hour ago. Still there is no sign they are leaving soon.

Trey regrets his decision not to drive his own car and ride with Brent instead. Fuck. He’s going to screw up his shot big time tomorrow — or rather, this afternoon.

“What celebration am I spoiling again?” Trey leans forward. Brent looks taken aback but he immediately offers a smile, which looks more like a snake’s sneer.

“Trey, that’s not nice.” He wags his forefinger.

“The hell with nice.” Trey rests his head on his folded arms on the table. “I’d rather be with Jess –”

Oops. He slipped up and said it out loud.

Brent and the others sitting around the table seem to come to a consensus to stop whatever they are doing and switch their attention to Trey.

“Jess? Jess who?” Brent asks. “I thought you were with Kimberly.”

Trey feels blood rush into his face but he sighs inwardly in relief that Brent doesn’t know who he was talking about.

“Kimberly? Right. And you said she’d be here! Where is she, Brenton?”

Brent visibly cringes at the name and Trey feels like guffawing. Eat that, asshat!

“My name’s not Brenton.”

“So what? You haven’t answered my question.”

And neither has Trey, but Brent has forgotten about that. Trey gulps down his drink, and tries to shut down from everything going on around him.

About the Author:

Iyana lives in Jakarta, a city famous for its traffic jams, a lot of cars and motorcycles, and people selling stuff on the roads. You can spend two hours on the road going to a place you can reach in half an hour in a normal situation. Thanks to the traffic jams, though, Iyana can come up with a lot of stories, mostly shorties, as she prefers to spend the time during her trips writing into her cell phone rather than sleeping.

Another thing Iyana loves is kitties. Right now she has five of them. Their names are Larva, Nyil, Cil, Mermood, and Horus. When she doesn’t write, she plays with them, or they would play with her when she writes.

He’d give up everything to keep her, in fact he did. But will she still be waiting on the other side when it’s over?

Blurb:

When a fighter’s path crosses with a beautiful woman, he’s positive the meeting will only end in her leaving his penthouse with sex hair and a smile — until life and the law steps in, inevitably linking their futures forever.

The accident that ended his fighting career wasn’t enough to keep former heavyweight mixed martial arts champion Devon Lynk out of the sport. His new business, Chaine Lynk, an exclusive fighting company, has made him millions through illegal gambling. Happy with his life, he never suspected it could be his downfall … until the morning after leads to something so much more than he expected, and he’s left with the weight of guilt and responsibility on his shoulders.

Veronica “Nic” Stacey made her way to Edmonton with the intention of starting life anew, but her first night in the city lands her in a stranger’s bed and things don’t quite go as planned. Waking up to find out her brother is in jail is one thing, but learning the man she slept with is also his boss is another matter altogether. With no knowledge of the city and nowhere to go, she’s left taking the only help offered: Devon’s.

With Chaine Lynk’s doors closed and Devon facing possible jail time for his involvement, reality takes a front row seat. Love and lust intermingle as he comes to learn what his business and choices have cost the girl he wants most—now he just has to fix it. But is it already too late?

Excerpt:

“What is your name, pretty girl?”
*
Something sinful crawled over every nerve Nic had in the best way at the voice in her ear. She couldn’t not respond to the hand suddenly holding tight to her waist. The heat of the man’s palm soaked straight through the fabric of her dress and seeped into her skin in the best way. She swore it travelled over her flesh with a tingling dance that had her burning hot instantly. Shooting him with a simpering grin, Nic turned her head just enough to check him out.
Tall and well dressed with broad shoulders, a muscled frame, and hazel eyes that seemed to pierce right into her soul, Nic was stunned for a second. The dark color of his skin stood out against the cream color of her dress and his fingers tightened, making her breath catch. Handsome was an understatement. This man was downright gorgeous in a way that made her pulse pick up and her sex ache.
There was a faint grin playing on his full lips and her gaze was drawn down to his hand still holding firm to her waist like it belonged there. No one had so blatantly approached her like he had throughout the night, not to mention physically touched her.
Actually, this man was the first to ever do that at all and not get an instant rejection.
Maybe it should have bothered Nic, but instead she found herself curious as to why he had approached her. After all, she hadn’t been actively trying to invite attention her way.
“Your name?” he asked again.
The roughness in his voice was almost mesmerizing. The flecks of green in his eyes seemed to dance under the lights, sparkling with suggestion and want.
“Nic.”
“What are your plans in the next five minutes?”
Nic turned to look back at the fight. The man did the same, watching as Jordan locked down hard to his opponent, pinning him to the mat with a chokehold that looked like it must have hurt. She’d thought seeing Jordan fight would turn her inside out with worry, but instead, Nic only found herself proud.
Maybe making the choice to come to Alberta had been the right one after all. Change was supposed to be a good thing, right?
“That depends,” she finally answered.
“On what?”
Once more, she met his gaze, feeling his hand gripping tightly to her waist and wanting to become lost in just the sensation of that action alone. Nic could feel her body wanting to press harder into his grip. Never had her insides reacted so strongly to another person. He didn’t let up a bit. Haze yielded behind them, tapping out hard against the mat. People started to cheer as their hands hit the cage. Jordan’s name rang out in the crowd louder and louder.
“On that.”
Her brother won.
The tuition was all but paid now.
Do something different. Those words rung in her mind like a toll bell.
What would it hurt to go home with this man? Nic wondered. Who would know what she had done? There wouldn’t be a soul to say anything bad. There would be no one judging her like they did back home. He clearly wasn’t a fighter if his clothing and attitude were any indication, so she was still following along with her brother’s only request.
What could it really hurt? Nothing. She was grown. Jordan would be celebrating his win. A single phone call to let him know she was fine would be enough until the morning.
“Come home with me,” he said, his eyes seeming to search hers for any sign of indecision.
Nic laughed an airy sound. “I don’t even know you.”
“I don’t bite.”
“Maybe I’d like that, though.”
“All right, I bite a little,” he teased.
She could easily say no, but she didn’t want to. That should have scared her. Whatever influence this man seemed to have on her was one she hadn’t experienced before. Nic was the rational one; a person who didn’t make irresponsible choices that would shine her in a bad light. Straight and narrow; white as a dove. Whoever this man was, he made her want to jump headfirst into the filth of sin without even thinking of possible consequences.
“Married?” he asked.
“Nope.”
“Escort?” The face she made must have given away how she felt about that comment. “Sorry,” he said.
Again, his mouth came dangerously close to her face, lips ghosting over the shell of her ear. Heat saturated Nic all over again and she shivered. Who was this man? She didn’t even care that his name had yet to be uttered. She wet her tongue with her lips.
“Come home with me,” he repeated, his voice turning down to a husky tone.
Nic bit her lip, her eyebrow rising in contemplation. “You’ll get me home in the morning?”
“In a private jet if you want, sweetheart; just say yes.”
“Yes.”

Riley closed her eyes and let the heat of
the water engulf her tired muscles. Resting her head against the bath pillow,
she cleared her mind. The steam seeped out from the bubbles and swirled around
the room. Soon the mirror and windows were fogged and a scented mist surrounded
the bathroom, creating a relaxing atmosphere. A week’s worth of sleepless
nights had taken their toll and Riley drifted off.
The
squeak of the faucet and the silence that followed distracted her tranquil
thoughts. She opened her eyes to find him sitting on the edge of the tub
looking at her. For a moment, she felt self-conscious. She glanced down and
discovered her body covered in thick, white bubbles. He couldn’t see anything
but the tops of her shoulders, neck, and face.
“Sorry,”
he said. “I was afraid the water would overflow.”
“Am
I awake?”
He
shook his head. She noted his green eyes sparkled even in the dim lighting of
the bathroom.
“Well,
then how—”
“It’s
complicated.” His thin, pink lips formed a small smile. “I can’t explain now.”
“Why
not?”
“There
isn’t enough time to make you understand while you’re in your current state. We
need much more time. You can get that for us.”
“Are
you real or am I crazy?”
“I’m
very real, just stuck between realms. I’ve been waiting for you for a long
time.” He slid off the side of the tub and knelt down on the floor. “I’m afraid
I can’t stay very long. I keep trying to figure out how to increase the length
of my visits but nothing seems to work.”
“I
don’t know you.”
“You
will.” He reached for the clip in her hair. “May I?”
She
nodded.
Once
he’d freed her hair from its confines, he smoothed the damp locks out with his
hand. “I like when you wear it down. It’s so pretty.” He continued to stroke
her hair. “You’re just as beautiful as I remember.”
“How
do you know me?” She shifted her position to face him. She breathed in his
crisp scent. He smelled of spice, maybe a hint of cinnamon.
“I…”
He trailed off when his gaze caught her exposed breasts. He looked lost in a
distant memory.
When
she’d turned to face him she’d upset the bubbles shielding her. Her nipples
hardened as she watched him take in her flesh. She no longer felt embarrassed.
“I
have to go.”
“You
keep leaving me. I don’t like it.” Each time he left, he took a small piece of
her with him.
“That’s
why you need to find me.” He leaned forward. “I know you can. You’re very
powerful.” He brushed his lips against her mouth. A rush of warmth coursed
through her and settled between her legs. “Find me, Riley.” He kissed the
corner of her mouth, lingering a second longer than usual. She took the
opportunity to run her tongue along his soft lips. “Find me now.”
“How?”
She wanted more than anything to find this man. “What do I need to do?”
“Tucker…”
he whispered.
“What?”
Riley slipped off the bath pillow and under
the cold water. She quickly sat up and looked around. The bubbles had
evaporated into the freezing water.
Did she turn the faucet off? Or did…
I
must be crazy.
She thought for a moment. Her mystery man
had left her a big clue tonight. Now she needed to figure out what Tucker
Sparrow had to do with any of this. It looked as if she would be paying a visit
to a man she hadn’t seen in a decade.

A Time for Reflection

©Depositphotos/exinocactus

©Depositphotos/exinocactus

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

I love Christmas for many reasons but I also get a bit reflective at this time of the year. It’s the fact that another year has passed and a new one is just around the corner. I’m often guilty of wishing for time to pass more quickly so that the holidays will come but I try to ground myself by enjoying each and every day and by trying to be proud of one thing I’ve accomplished – instead of being annoyed with myself for what I haven’t done. This isn’t easy because I’m my own harshest critic but it’s an attitude of gratitude and it’s one that I hope to carry into 2014.

2013 has been an amazing year. Although it has had some hardships, as every year does, 2013 was the year that I became a published author.

How amazing!!! *dances around the room*

Not only have I now had two novellas published, with a longer novel ready for edits for Totally Bound, but I’ve also a few other works in progress. I’ve just been told that the one, a modern romance, will be released in late January!

I am so excited about what 2014 will bring.

But I’m going to make the most of what’s left of this year first.

So, as we approach the end of 2013, I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Totally Bound for publishing my debut novella. I also want to say a very special thank you to my editor there (you know who you are) for teaching me so much – especially that Track Changes tutorial which was priceless! Another big thank you goes out to Evernight Publishing for accepting and publishing my second novella last month. You are also wonderful and my editor there was also lovely. I have another editor to thank but I’m not sure if I can divulge which publisher it is yet. So I’ll keep that one a secret for now. Even though I’m itching to shout about it!!! Hee hee! x

*quivering lip* Now I’m getting all emotional!!!

*pulls self together*

I love Christmas and I know that I am very lucky to have a fabulous family around me to enjoy it with. Without them, it wouldn’t be wonderful. However, there are times when it can get a bit overwhelming and then I like nothing more than to pour a glass of wine and retreat from it all (for an hour or so) with a good book and Totally Bound and Evernight have LOTS of those.

What was 2013 like for you? What are you thankful for? What are your hopes for 2014? What do you do to relax over the holidays?

Look after yourselves as you rush about from day to day and remember to relax and recharge.

Hugs,
Molly xxx

The Girl On The Bus – Raven McAllan

The Girl On The Bus by Raven McAllan

TGOTB_BlogTourButton

Blurb
Julia ran out on Tay five years ago, so she can’t be the woman he sees on the bus. However, when she ends up being the one taking notes at his meeting, he knows he will move heaven and earth to make her his once more.
Will she agree, or will she run again?

Be Warned: BDSM, public exhibition, spanking

tgotb1m

Excerpt – 18+
Once inside the room, which as far as Julia could see, was empty except for a bed, Mister T gripped her by the chin. “What is the first thing you thought when you came inside?”
Julia answered him without thinking about it. “Is that all?”
His shout of laughter rumbled through her, and his hand on her hair sent zaps of hot hard arousal to her clit and pussy.
“Well we can’t have that, can we? A disappointed sub. Now I wonder what we should do?”
Going on instinct, Julia knelt awkwardly in front of him—she’d done her research on line—put her hands behind her and bent her head.
“Please, sir.” To her annoyance her voice shook and she cleared her throat. “I want to learn.”
“What, pet? What do you want to learn?”
Julia swallowed. “Whatever you wish to show me, sir.” Then she remembered one of the books she’d read. “Within my safe words.”
He’d laughed. “Clever, pet. What are they and what do they mean?”
“Red, stop now. We may discuss why I’m calling red but until we do its non-negotiable. Yellow, I’m not sure about what’s happening, and maybe we need to discuss it further. And green, oh yes, I’m very happy let’s carry on.”
He crouched in front of her and kissed her nose. “That seems to cover it. Well sub, I’m considered to be best at wax play. Are you willing to let me show you the beauty therein?”
Those words spoken in his velvet voice made her ream coat her pussy and thighs and the hairs on her arms stand up.
“Yes, Sir. Please, Sir.” The salutation seemed so easy to say, and so normal to her, that it rolled of her tongue automatically.
What followed became the most special and mind blowing time of her life. It was all well and good saying no sex, but it had been sexual in its own way.
Tay showed her with both diagrams and pictures what would happen. Then asked her to sign yet more disclaimers, before telling her to shower to remove all lotions and perfumes.
When she’d exited the shower, a tall smiling woman waited for her. Julia blushed. She might not be ashamed of her hourglass figure, but she wasn’t used to flaunting it.
“Master T said would you put this on, please? He reckoned you’d not be happy dressed just in a thong as he’d prefer.” She’d passed a bikini to Julia who looked at it doubtfully. It was so tiny, Julia reckoned she’d be lucky to get her nipple covered by the top, it looked to be an AA cup and she was a DD. The bottom wasn’t much better, but at least it covered her bush.
The other woman, “Call me Callie,” giggled as Julia blushed. The way Callie’s face crinkled up, made her look much more approachable and ten years younger. Julia realized she was around the same age as herself.
“Master T?” Julia asked as she struggled to dress in the bikini without dropping the towel. “Does he ever go mask-less?”
Callie shook her head. “Nope, but he’s so good no one worries. Look, honey, it’s obviously you’re like a newborn babe here. Believe me, no one will bother about your body, except to see the marks of your Sir or Master on it. For hygiene’s sake, if you carry on you’ll shave or wax your pussy, it’s preferred, and you’ll get used to being mainly unclothed. It’s no biggie. Right, you’re playing in private, but I’m dungeon master for you. Master T thought you’d be happier with a woman around.”
The following hour had been eye opening, enlightening, and mind blowing.
“I’m tying you down, pet, for your own safety,” Tay told her. “Color?”
“Green, Sir.” Okay she didn’t know how she felt about not having the chance to move, but then she trusted him to know best. Behind him, Callie leaned against the wall ever watchful. So she did have a get out of jail card.
Once the first drop of wax hit her chest, the intense sting was followed by a flush of arousal so strong Julia almost came there and then. At the stern, “do not come until I say so”, she bit her lip, regulating her breathing instead. She flew. Nothing existed except each soft drop of wax, his quiet praise, and the way she was detached and watching herself flush and blossom.
He tapped her mound gently and spoke in his sex on legs voice. “Fly, pet. Come for me now, Silver, show me how you let go.”

Raven Bio
Raven lives in Scotland, along with her husband and their two cats—their children having flown the nest—surrounded by beautiful scenery, which inspires a lot of the settings in her books.
She is used to sharing her life with the occasional deer, red squirrel, and lost tourist, to say nothing of the scourge of Scotland—the midge.
Her very understanding, and long-suffering DH, is used to his questions unanswered, the dust bunnies greeting him as he walks through the door, and rescuing burned offerings from the Aga. (And passing her a glass of wine as she types furiously.)

It’s beginning to feel a lot like…Christmas?

©Depositphotos/exinocactus

©Depositphotos/exinocactus

Well, Christmas really is just weeks away. I can’t believe we’re already in November. I wish I’d written a Christmassy tale this year…but maybe next year! It has been a busy one anyway and I have several projects coming to fruition, so 2014 will be a busy year! 2013 has been great in a lot of ways – debut novella released, developing professional relationships with publishers and other authors and, of course, spending precious time with my family.

I have little Christmas rituals I like to perform each year, such as making mince pies, tracking Santa on Norad (I LOVE doing this with my kids) and at least a dozen others which I’ll post about as the festive season draws even closer. But one of my favourites is reading at least one Christmas novel. There’s nothing like cuddling up in the warm with a mug of hot chocolate – or a nice glass of wine – and reading a good festive novel.

So here are two recommendations to get you in the Christmas mood this year:

Number 1

A Scandalous Regency Christmas
This is an anthology featuring a story by one of my favourite authors Barbara Monajem, as well as some other fabulous authors – Christine Merrill, Marguerite Kaye, Annie Burrows and Linda Skye.

Browsing the Mills and Boon section at a supermarket deep in the heart of Wales yesterday, I found this one on the shelf. My husband thought I was mad taking a photo!

Xmas books

Number 2

Wicked Wonderland written by another of my favourite authors, the lovely Lisa Whitefern.

wickedwonderland72webmiddle2

This is a delightful combination of adorable characters, festive magic and vivid menage romance. Ms Whitefern creates intensity throughout with internal and external conflicts which keep the reader turning pages.
Lilly is a strong yet vulnerable love, Nick is smoking dom hot and Kris is the man you’d want as a bfwb! Add to this delightful trio the evil sibling, the fascinating birdmen (conjured images of the winged men from Flash Gordon) and the heat that happens just about everywhere (Xmas cards with pics of Santa’s sleigh will never look the same, nor will rooftops) and you’ve got a thoroughly enjoyable combination!

So there you have it! My two reading suggestions for the next few weeks.
Why not check them out then let me – and the authors – know what you think?

Did they get you in the Christmas mood?

Is it beginning to feel a little…or a lot…like Christmas?
