#bookrelease -Hawk v Falcon: Surprise at the Candy Apple – by @elodieparkes

Thank you for hosting new release MM romance,

Hawk v Falcon: Surprise at the Candy Apple

When Chris Falconer receives an email from his lost high school friend, Justin, ten years after he last saw him, Chris is overjoyed. The two boys had shared kisses and sworn love for each other, but before their love could be tested, Justin’s mother abruptly took Justin out of school, and they disappeared.

Multi-talented and handsome Chris is a cage fighter at Jack’s Clubhouse, and works in the Candy Apple club. He writes a column for a fitness blog and keeps himself busy, but deep down he’s never forgotten Justin—turns out Justin has never forgotten Chris either.

On a modeling assignment in New York, Justin sees Chris in a café and can’t help contacting him, but his ex, Todd, who doesn’t want Justin but doesn’t want Chris to have him either, has plans to throw their reunion into disarray.

So begins a love story full of emotion. Will Todd succeed? Or this time, will Justin and Chris have the happy ending and delicious love they deserve?

In the second MM romance from the Candy Apple series, I picked up on the character Hawk, the Dungeon Master in the Candy Apple. Chris Falconer is Hawk to the dungeon surveillance staff, but to others he’s a lonely man who often thinks about his past with regret. To the audience at Jack’s Clubhouse, where Chris cage fights and provides display fight bouts, he’s a thrilling sight.

Chris is:

  • six foot, two
  • has dark glossy hair
  • has deep blue eyes
  • is kind and gentle
  • writes a blog for fitness and fight fans
  • loves sex and giving his partner pleasure
  • is muscled and handsome
  • when he’s not fighting, favors black suits, or a leather jacket
  • is intelligent, multi-talented, calm and sophisticated

Justin is:

  • a fashion model
  • six foot two
  • has dark hair
  • has clear blue/gray eyes
  • is lonely and had a stressful upbringing
  • has never forgotten Chris
  • needs love
  • has lived in Denmark for many years
  • is hesitant and yet as soon as Chris begins to take care of him, he blossoms

Their story is sexy, romantic, sad, and happy. No one is more surprised than Chris when he is contacted by long lost love Justin and he will do anything to give Justin the love he needs.

Read an excerpt:

Justin walked a pace behind Chris. It was such a relief to be near Chris, Justin’s fatigue threatened to overwhelm him. Every muscle in his body felt heavy. His gaze traced the broad shoulders and muscled thighs of the man in front. Chris’s hair was well cut and his suit obviously expensive. Chris was even taller than he’d been when Justin last saw him in person, but then so was he. Justin smiled as a wave of tenderness crept over him followed by a sharp need to feel Chris’s lips on his. He still loved Chris. He’d expected to find it was all in his head, that the love was confined to memories, and real life would show him he was mistaken, that love couldn’t last this long.

They were in a corridor when Chris turned to him. “I’ve thought about you so much, I’m a bit ashamed of myself for clinging to your memory, when you never called, when you just disappeared.”

Justin’s heart fell. Was Chris about to reject him now they were away from the bar, the friendly barkeep, and bright white glow of the downlights there? “I’m sorry…”

“No. I meant … I mean I still care for you. I couldn’t ever shake it. I never got over you and it’s been … it’s been so long—you know I sometimes felt weak for not letting go.”

Justin gazed at Chris’s handsome face. “I thought about you.” He slid his hand along Chris’s jaw. “I want to kiss you, so much.”

Chris closed the small gap between their bodies as he grabbed Justin’s head and brought his mouth down on Justin’s. Justin’s breath left him in a soft murmur. His eyes closed in pleasure. He clung to Chris, desperation to stay with Chris, never to go home, gripping him. All he could think of was starting again with Chris, of the delicious drifting sensation that overcame him as Chris pressed close. He kissed Chris over and over until he couldn’t breathe, and Chris held his face away a little whispering words he’d longed to hear against his mouth and dotting tiny kisses there between the phrases.

“Justin, stay here, in the club. I can’t let you go, but I can’t leave work. I still love you. I want to know where you’ve been all these years. Where do you live? You must be a club member. I’ve not seen you here before. Can you stay until we close? It will be late, but then we can talk—we can be together.”

Justin closed his eyes and leaned his head on Chris’s shoulder. “Yes.”

Chris folded Justin in his arms.

Justin stayed within the comfort of the embrace until he knew he had to let Chris get back to work. He raised his head and stepped away.

“I should let you work. I’ll hang out at the bar.”

Chris gazed into his eyes. “Thank you.” He kissed Justin gently. “Hell, you’ll never know how good it feels to kiss you again.

A Writer’s Tears #amwriting #emotion

WHISKEY-e1407500488237-225x300 For my birthday in August, my husband bought me a lovely bottle of pot still Irish whiskey. We enjoy trying different whiskies and collecting rare ones.
This particular bottle had me in tears. I’m sentimental and emotional, I know, but he’s just such a thoughtful man and he knows how much writing means to me.
The whiskey is called Writers Tears. In the description on the box it states that most…writers have suffered from writer’s block and many sought comfort and inspiration from…whiskey. After reading the description, it sent my mind into overdrive. I mean, how many writers actually end up in tears over different aspects of the writing process.
I shed tears when I get a story accepted, I shed tears when I get a great review but I can’t say that I shed tears when I get writer’s block, although it is frustrating. I guess it is a good excuse to pour a nice glass of whiskey though…
I also shed tears as a reader – and that happens a lot – but that’s a whole other blog post.
What makes you shed tears? If you’re an author, do you suffer from writer’s block and how do you get over it? If you’re an avid reader, is there anything in particular about a great read that makes you cry?
And while we’re on the subject of emotion, it is nearly two years since my debut publication with Totally Bound of my historical western novella Desire in Deadwood. Another cause to raise a wee dram!
Have a great weekend!

Trying Too Hard… RELEASE DAY :)

So it’s release day! Trying Too Hard has been released with Carina UK. So to celebrate, here’s an extract for you. Hope you like! Let me know what you think. 🙂

Catrin stood outside the hotel room door. She raised her hand to knock then let it fall to her side again.
What was she doing? This was absolute madness! She was riding a wave that would surely drop her into shark infested waters. If Liam found out what she’d been up to with Henri he’d be furious, wouldn’t he? The lines about clients and agents had never been clearly drawn. She’d been told to take good care of Henri and she’d found the directive ambiguous. Was she supposed to look after his needs…all of his needs? If so, then she’d done well so far. Or was her job description limited to strictly hands off, no touching?
If she got it wrong and Liam found out, she knew that if he didn’t sack her on the spot, he’d never make her permanent. But then, Henri wasn’t officially her client. She was just taking care of him while Liam was busy with other things.
Did that make it OK? Would Liam see it that way? She wished that everything was clearer but since Henri had arrived, nothing had been clear any more. Her vision and her thinking were hazy, infused with a smoky scarlet glow that warmed her and puzzled her. She felt all fuzzy round the edges.
Before she had time to dwell further on the ethics of her behaviour, the door swung open and she gasped at the beauty of the man in front of her.
Henri wore a silver-grey suit which caught the light when he moved and gave the effect of shimmering. Beneath it he wore a crisp white shirt but no tie. The top button of the shirt was undone and she could see the black hairs at the top of his chest. She knew that those hairs lightly covered his pecs and ran in a fine line over his abdomen and down to his groin. The thought made desire flicker deep inside her and she shivered with delight.
“Well, are you coming in, chérie?” He stood to one side to allow her access.
“Yes, of course.” She inclined her head then strode past him. Her impossibly high heels made her legs tremble on the plush carpet – at least she wanted to believe it was due to the heels but having Henri walk directly behind her was hard to ignore. She cursed herself for it but she just wanted him to hug her.
“So, Henri, the event this evening…” She turned to look at him and her mouth fell open. He had removed his jacket and flung it onto the bed and he was unbuttoning his shirt. “What are you…I mean…why are you…”

He stood before her, naked from the waist up and she felt the heady mist of desire swirl around her. His olive-skinned torso was strong and defined and as he moved towards her the muscles rippled beneath the skin. He was so toned that he even had the v shaped muscle which led from his lower abdominals and down to his crotch. She’d only seen them this toned once before and that was on Brad Pitt in Fight Club.
Oh what was she doing?
Henri was even better looking than Brad Pitt. And that was saying something! He’d overshadowed her teenage crush! The actor who she’d drooled over for years no longer even held a candle to the beautiful Frenchman she was actually spending time with.
Would she be left with a broken heart and no career? Did she even care? She was hypnotised by his energy, his beauty and her overpowering attraction to him. The way she felt when she was with him was so hard to explain, even to herself. How could one man be so damned sexy yet so sweet and reassuring? She wanted to screw him every way she could yet lie with her head in his lap and talk about the future they could have, the grandchildren they’d adore! She was slipping right out of her comfort zone.
Henri stopped just in front of her and smiled before reaching out to cup her face in his strong hands.
“Henri.” Her voice trembled. “I really don’t think we should be doing this.”
But I want to!
“Catrin.” He smoothed his thumbs over her lips then applied pressure so that they parted beneath his touch. “We’re not hurting anyone. You’re just looking after me.”
Oh I’m looking after you all right!

The warmth of his body pressed against hers and her legs started shaking. She felt like a bar of chocolate melting in the sun. Soon she’d be smudged all over Henri, all over the carpet and impossible to put back together.
His thumbs slipped between her lips and ran over the edge of her tongue. Her heartbeat quickened and she licked at his thumbs before closing her mouth over them. She savoured the taste of him. The feel of him. The strength he possessed.
Like he was about to possess her.
“That’s it, chérie,” he whispered, extracting one thumb so that she could concentrate on the other. His free hand rand down over her breasts where it cupped and squeezed until her nipples stood to attention. Her breasts ached with the need to be touched and suckled.
“Henri!” She sighed as he withdrew his thumb from her mouth. “We don’t have time. Really!” She took a step back. The way her body reacted to him alarmed her. She’d always been so in control and in the space of a week this man had…had…hypnotised her with his beauty, his charm, his lust and his touch. It was ridiculous. She had never let herself be distracted like this and she had to get a grip before she totally lost control. He was good looking, sure. In fact, he could have modelled Calvin Klein underwear on a billboard and put the bulging pants of the other models to shame, but this was just lust, surely? Nothing more and nothing less and she knew – her mother had told her often enough – how dangerous lust could be.
Henri looked at her, his chocolate-brown eyes full of something that she couldn’t define. Was it hurt? Confusion?
Probably just sexual frustration.
“So we really have to go now?” He cocked his head to one side and waggled his eyebrows.
“Yes!” She laughed in spite of the disappointment that throbbed between her own legs. “Get dressed!”
“One moment,” he whispered.
Catrin’s mouth fell open as he unzipped his fly and freed his generous erection.
“Oh!” She sighed, realising that he needed some attention. She wanted to give him some. Right now.
She placed her hands on his hips then slid down to her knees. Taking his length into her hands she caressed him firmly, the way she knew that he enjoyed. A shiny bead of liquid appeared at the tiny slit at the end of his cock and she licked it away.
“Chérie!” he moaned.
Catrin ran her lips over the end of him then slid him into her mouth, inch by delicious inch. She flickered her tongue around his girth and moved her hands rhythmically, each time taking him deeper into her. She knew how good it felt to have his length inside her and she clenched internally with excitement at the thought.
“So good, Catrin!” He exclaimed. “Très bien!”
Catrin inhaled his scent, the sweet musk of his skin mingled with his zesty shower gel. He made her hungry. She wanted to consume him. Her pussy tingled with need. Her core muscles fluttered in anticipation.
She increased her pace. She wanted him to feel her desire for him, to know that in this moment he was hers and she was his. She wanted to be more to him than any other woman ever had been or ever would be. She might struggle to articulate her feelings, might be too afraid to ever admit to them, but she could show him.
Again and again and again.
As he swelled inside her mouth and froze, she cupped his balls then tilted her head, taking him from tip to base.
He exploded in one final shuddering movement and she swallowed his essence, circling him gently as his movements slowed, wanting him to enjoy every second of her attention.
When she released him from her mouth, he lowered to his knees in front of her and cupped her face. His eyes were full of emotion. Her stomach flipped in response. What did this mean? Was this more than just sex to him?
He pulled her to him and kissed her, long and full on the lips and she melted into him. Her feelings scared her. She was so attracted to him and she wanted to give him the pleasures he bestowed upon her. Yet there was something else here that she was trying hard to ignore. Like a sweet wrapper in a silent cinema, it was crackling at her outer edges, and she wanted desperately to dismiss it. To feign indifference to its presence. To believe that this was just about lust.
How long she could do this, she didn’t know. Henri was getting to her in a way that no other man ever had. This was no crush, no infatuation.
What on earth was she going to do?
She released herself from his embrace and grabbed her purse from the bed where it had somehow landed. Had she flung it there?
Look at what was happening to her! She had a head full of scrambled eggs! She extracted her iPhone and quickly pulled up her email. Thinking business was always a good way to calm herself.
Her career was what mattered.
It was all that mattered.
Wasn’t it?

And here’s where the magic happens…

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

Thought I’d share my writing place with you today, the place where the ‘magic’ happens. Not the Harry Potter kind of magic but the writing magic! My writing place is where I’m sitting right now, tapping away on my laptop, trying to complete my current WIP!

We don’t have the room for a study or even a desk, so I write in this chair in my lounge. It’s comfortable and means that I get to sit with my family and the dogs while I write. If they’re being noisy or the TV is on, I just plug in my headphones and listen to some good writing tunes. Occasionally, I write in bed or at the kitchen table but I’m usually found in the lounge. Next to the chair is the footstool which currently holds my note pads. I always have at least three or four full of story ideas, character notes and other reminders.

Where do you read or write? Do you find it difficult to get the time and the peace to do either?

Untangle Me

Genre: Erotic Romance with D/s

Length: Novelette

Published: December 5, 2013

Publisher: Evernight Publishing

Ivy’s revenge on the people behind her family’s downward spiral is simple and it’s working. There’s no need to long for help from the wealthy business owners who turned their backs on her father. Ivy may be worn out, but she’s finding herself again after joining the local BDSM club.

Seth has it all. He has homes around the world and the little red speedster he dreamed of as a little boy, but none of the things he can buy satisfy him, not the socialites hanging on his arm or the submissives falling at his feet. Then, he hires Ivy to plan his next event.

Seth and Ivy enjoy each other’s company in and out of the planning stages for Seth’s charity event. Their playful bets lead them to a first date. When their secret kinks are revealed, the pair fall deep, but it’s not meant to last. Past hurts come back to haunt Ivy. Now, it’s time for Seth to use all he’s learned, regardless if he can win back the girl.

Where was Seth?
Once in the center of the dance floor she turned in a circle, looking every direction.
From the center seat at the bar, Seth’s direct stare held her captive. A new song excited the crowd and cheers surrounded them, but neither of them paid it any attention.
His jacket and tie were gone, giving her a closer look at his all-male body. The top button on his white shirt was undone. She wanted to undo the rest and get a glimpse at what lay underneath. Round shoulders tapered to his waist. She bit her lip as she imagined his length.
He made no move to come to her, his elbow still rested on the bar. He was a man waiting for the world to come to him.
Not the world. Her.
The comfortable confidence and the heat shining in his eyes turned her on. She swayed her hips to the hypnotic beat. Her hands felt their way up her thighs, around her hips, and an inch past her waist, he got up and walked towards her.
In no time, his feet stepped in between hers and together they rocked to the music. The drums and base from the band pushed a rhythm into her body, driving her desire. Their fingers interlaced. She snuggled closer and breathed in his clean musky scent.
She wanted to touch him, but he kept a hold on her hands. He pushed them both behind her, causing her back to arch and her breasts to press deliciously into his hard body. Heat rolled through her. She let her head fall back, exposing her neck.
His lips brushed across her collarbone. They continued to rock back and forth, their hips swaying and rubbing together. He took her wrists in one hand and his other stroked down her neck, over her shoulder, caressed the side of her breast, and around her waist to land on her butt. He squeezed her ass and pressed her into the hard ridge of his cock. She lowered her chin and moaned as she took in his expression filled with raw desire. A slow devilish smile lit his features and sent a tremble through her.
The song ended and another began while they continued their dance. He let go of her hands and she wrapped them around his neck. Both of his hands molded her ass. She nuzzled his neck, taking a nibble and a few kisses as she breathed him in. She wanted more.
Lots more.
She made her way closer to his mouth. Before she stole a kiss, she looked into his eyes. His brown eyes had darkened to the color of night, matching his hair. She sucked on her lower lip.
“You know what you’re doing, right?” he asked.
“I know I want you.”
“The Masters work the back rooms on club nights. But we can stay on the dance floor all night, if you want.”
“You’re talking about the one on one rooms?” She sucked in a breath.
“I don’t think this crowd is prepared to see what I want to do to you.”
“Can we go back there? I want to go back there.” She looked directly into his eyes.

Five things with S.J. Maylee and the characters from UNTANGLE ME

At first glance my characters may only have a few things in common, but their connection is as deep as they come. Let’s look at five things that played a part in untangling them.

1. Hard Work. Both Seth and Ivy have been working hard at their careers and they both need to make time for play. If this sounds familiar maybe you need to untangle your schedule too. They went out for a night of music and dancing.
2. Family Loyalty. Ivy’s loyalty to her father drives many of her career decisions. Seth’s mom shared some wise words and they led him to the path of success. Family, no matter if it’s built by blood or another connection, can have deep and beneficial impact.
3. Game Time. They may not cheer for the same sports team, but Seth and Ivy enjoy the game.
4. Giving Spirit. Both of their lives have improved after receiving assistance from others and in turn they both enjoy giving back. I hope you are in a position to share this holiday season.
5. A Loving Heart. Sometimes life pushes you towards the one thing you swore you wouldn’t want. A lonesome heart can certainly be stubborn, especially when things are tangled and messy. You’ll have to read UNTANGLE ME to find out if Seth and Ivy listen to their hearts.

A Time for Reflection

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

I love Christmas for many reasons but I also get a bit reflective at this time of the year. It’s the fact that another year has passed and a new one is just around the corner. I’m often guilty of wishing for time to pass more quickly so that the holidays will come but I try to ground myself by enjoying each and every day and by trying to be proud of one thing I’ve accomplished – instead of being annoyed with myself for what I haven’t done. This isn’t easy because I’m my own harshest critic but it’s an attitude of gratitude and it’s one that I hope to carry into 2014.

2013 has been an amazing year. Although it has had some hardships, as every year does, 2013 was the year that I became a published author.

How amazing!!! *dances around the room*

Not only have I now had two novellas published, with a longer novel ready for edits for Totally Bound, but I’ve also a few other works in progress. I’ve just been told that the one, a modern romance, will be released in late January!

I am so excited about what 2014 will bring.

But I’m going to make the most of what’s left of this year first.

So, as we approach the end of 2013, I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Totally Bound for publishing my debut novella. I also want to say a very special thank you to my editor there (you know who you are) for teaching me so much – especially that Track Changes tutorial which was priceless! Another big thank you goes out to Evernight Publishing for accepting and publishing my second novella last month. You are also wonderful and my editor there was also lovely. I have another editor to thank but I’m not sure if I can divulge which publisher it is yet. So I’ll keep that one a secret for now. Even though I’m itching to shout about it!!! Hee hee! x

*quivering lip* Now I’m getting all emotional!!!

*pulls self together*

I love Christmas and I know that I am very lucky to have a fabulous family around me to enjoy it with. Without them, it wouldn’t be wonderful. However, there are times when it can get a bit overwhelming and then I like nothing more than to pour a glass of wine and retreat from it all (for an hour or so) with a good book and Totally Bound and Evernight have LOTS of those.

What was 2013 like for you? What are you thankful for? What are your hopes for 2014? What do you do to relax over the holidays?

Look after yourselves as you rush about from day to day and remember to relax and recharge.

Molly xxx

P.S. An early gift:

Let the celebrations continue!!!

So yesterday saw the release of my novella Wanton in the Wild West and according to my wonderful publisher Evernight it was an All Romance Ebooks bestseller within 24 hours!!! Now that’s what every author wants to hear.

In the novella, Amber Carpenter is wary of men and has sworn that she will never let a man hurt her. But when she meets two handsome cowboys, she finds herself drawn to them both. Her curiosity and sensuality draw her to them and what ensues is pretty HOT indeed!

I have one copy of Wanton in the Wild West for the best comment or question I get here, so come on, join my release celebrations!

What do you think about spending time with not one but two gorgeous cowboys? Is Amber lucky or crazy? Are the erotic scenes in the novella hot enough?
